A JOURNEY OF TRANSFORMATION FOR HCC STAFF

On Tuesday HCC staff walked the last 14 kilometres of the Camino Salvado, arriving at the Abbey Church in New Norcia to the sound of the ringing of the Abbey Bells.  Twenty- four of the staff had also walked the two previous days, covering a distance of 58 kilometres. The pilgrimage was a significant part of our Staff Formation Days, as we reflected on the theme : Pilgrimage – A Journey of Transformation.  The staff spent two days in New Norcia reflecting on their own faith journey and learning about the faith practice of pilgrimage and Benedictine spirituality.  We joined the monks for Lauds, morning prayer, each day and were fortunate to be given a tour of the monastic town of New Norcia, led by Dom Chris.  Fr David gave the staff some wonderful insights into Dom Rosendo Salvado.  Our formation days concluded with Mass in the Abbey Church.  It is important for staff to have the opportunity to spend time together sharing our faith story and building community.  These two days gave us a wonderful opportunity to do this.

THE NEXT STAGE OF THE JOURNEY

Year Ten students are beginning the process of subject selection for Year 11.  I look forward to seeing parents and students at the Careers Expo and the Parent Information Session next Wednesday.

RU LEGAL?
The digital world in which we live presents wonderful opportunities, as well as challenges.  On Tuesday 11 June parents have the opportunity to attend a workshop run by the WA Law Society.  This workshop is aimed at empowering parents to guide their students through the challenges of the digital world.  It will specifically address the Intimate Image Law, which came into force in April.  Young people and their parents need to be aware of the implications of this law.  Details of the worshop can be found on LIFE@HCC. https://www.holycross.wa.edu.au/post/10798
