Ash Wednesday, Advisory Council, Camp and Swimming Carnival

Dear Holy Cross College Community

This week students participated in an Ash Wednesday Mass in our new gymnasium, Lima. The students were outstanding in their display of reverence and respect. The Pre-primary and Year One children were so patient and listened so well.  Ash Wednesday marks the commencement of Lent, a forty day period of fasting and prayer.  In preparation for Easter, the Lenten season is a time when many of us observe a period of repentance and set time aside to reflect on the suffering, sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As Father Bonaventure told us: ‘Leave Every Negative Thing.’

Welcome BBQ and Friends of Holy Cross

Thank you to our parents who attended the parent information sessions as well as the BBQ.it was really affirming to be so warmly welcomed and meet so many families. It was also rewarding to have parents visiting some of the classrooms for the first time. Thank you to the ‘Friends of Holy Cross’ (FHC) for organising and running the sausage sizzle. Our next FHC is this Monday 22 February at 6:30pm in the St James Centre.
