Barking Gecko Theatre Magic!

Last week, the Year 5 and 6 classes travelled to the State Theatre Centre to be enthralled by a performance of ‘House’, the latest offering from renowned Children’s Theatre Company Barking Gecko Theatre. The students were buzzing as many of them had never travelled to the State Theatre before. This performance was the second in a three year partnership with Barking Gecko as part of their Inspire Program, giving students from all backgrounds access to quality live theatre.

The story followed a young girl who was whisked away in a flying house as one of the loneliest children in the world. Whilst there she discovered friendship and belonging. It was a beautifully poignant story and the set and production elements were sensational!

The Holy Cross College students were fascinated by the set and skill of the three actors involved and were able to ask some insightful questions at the post show Q&A. Several student representatives and staff were also privileged to assist the Barking Gecko Team by participating on camera in a new promotional video for the company. We are delighted our students were able to enjoy such a wonderful experience and look forward to our continued partnership with Barking Gecko.
