Book Week
What a magical week at HCC as we spent one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children’s authors and illustrators. This year’s theme of ‘Dreaming with Eyes Open’ was embraced by our Library Officer, Mrs Colleen Azzopardi and dedicated staff and parents who gave up their time to transform our Learning Resource Centre. The annual book week dress up and parade was incredible. Thank you to the parents and caregivers who embraced this year’s theme in their children’s costumes. Thursday evenings book fair was a huge success. Again, a big thank you to Mrs Colleen Azzopardi and the Friends of Holy Cross team for their contributions in making this event a resounding success.

Outdoor Education
It has been a busy week for our HPE team as our two Year 10 classes spent three nights in our states south west. The professionalism and dedication of our Outdoor Education Team enabled the camp to progress safely in what was challenging conditions. Thank you to our camp coordinators Mr Jarrad Pisano, Miss Melissa Carrara and the team of staff that gave up their week to grow the educational experiences of our students.

The Arts
The Spirit of the Arts Festival is well and truly underway with HCC students performing in a range of disciplines and genres. The performing arts students have proudly represented the College as they travelled across the Perth metropolitan area. Thank you to the parents who have changed their regular schedules to accommodate student performances. I am in awe of the commitment of our Arts team who go over and beyond to provide opportunities for our students to perform.
Well-done to our Dance students who performed in the inaugural ‘School to Stage’. Dance competition last Sunday. The photos speak to the quality of performances that our students continue to produce. A big thank you to Miss Georgina Pratt for the work that goes into preparing our Dance students and to Miss Courtney George and Miss Fiona Murray for giving up their Sunday to support the students.
This week I look forward to our drama students in Year 10-12 performing ‘three plays in three days’ as our 2022 College productions comes to life. Thursday night is sold out with only a few tickets left for Friday and Saturday shows.

LIFE Week
LIFE is only two weeks away! Parents and caregivers, please continue to check and respond to communication regarding LIFE week excursions and camps. All the information was sent out last week via email. Please contact the College if you haven’t received any communication.
Have a wonderful week!
