Book Week was celebrated at Holy Cross College in Week Four of Winter Term. Students were encouraged to submit their short stories to be judged by the English Department in the inaugural Book Week Short Story Competition. Although the judges were impressed by the calibre and creativity of all entries, Jhermayne Ubalde’s (McCormack Year Ten) retelling of the story of Snow White won the competition. Jhermayne’s story is reproduced below for your enjoyment.
