Carers Collective & Quiz Night

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen,
Mother of Mercy, Our life,
our sweetness and our hope.

To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve,
To thee do we send up our sighs,
Mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.

Turn then, most gracious Advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us, And after this our exile,
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God,
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

The month of May is a special time for us to honour Mary. By her own free will Mary agreed to bring our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ into the world. Her life was one of service and great devotion to Jesus, from the cave in Bethlehem where she gave birth to Him, to Calvary in Jerusalem where she stood by His cross in the Crucifixion. We are challenged to follow her example of humility, obedience, and service to God.

Carers Collective

From all reports the first session went very well with a group of parents attending as well as the Principal and Assistant Principal from Emmaus Catholic Primary School. Well done to Danielle Muir, Natalie Beazley, and Kat Elmer-Gray for implementing this initiative for our parents across our schools in the region as well as our Parish. See you in Week 8 – 14 June!

Physical Education

Thank you to Learning Area Leader – Liam Smith, Sports Coordinator – Leigh Willison, Glen Downing, HPE teachers and staff members who have assisted this week with the ACC Cross country training, and CPSSA Swimming Carnival, where we came second overall. Thank you to our parents for assisting in making sure the students were prepared. Students, Lewis Gage and Sadie Couzens, proudly hold the shield.  Well done!

Junior School Mass

Thank you to our year Six teachers – Jesse De Leon and Carmela Kovacevich and our students for hosting the Mass. Thank you to Liturgists– Jackie Holbrook and Drew Griffith, Ben Bull and Linley Waters. In general, the students responded and sang so beautifully. Thank you to Fr Francis for celebrating Mass for us in Fr Bona’s absence.

Ellenbrook Youth Centre

The City of Swan is excited to deliver a new youth centre in Ellenbrook. Located on Plaza Turn, the Ellenbrook Youth Centre will provide our young residents between the ages of 12-25 with a safe place to socialise, connect, engage and participate in a meaningful manner.

The centre is a modern and multi-functional space where young people can access a range of activities, services and supports, including counselling, financial advice, employment and training. The official opening was yesterday.

Quiz Night – 19 May

This year the Quiz Night is going to be a little different and bigger than ever before. Senior students can even have their own tables. This is a Community event organised by our Friends of Holy Cross and staff. Book now!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
