Catholic Performing Arts Festival Kicks Off!

Chamber Choir at St Mary’s Cathedral

After a virtual festival in 2020, the Performing Arts Festival for Catholic Schools and Colleges has returned to a live format in 2021 and the first week has been packed with wonderful performances with Holy Cross College well represented. The Festival officially opened on Thursday 22nd July and drama students Bertie Turrell-Knight and Therese Topliss represented the College, performing at the Opening Celebration at St Mary’s Cathedral.

This week has seen a wide variety of performances with the College Chamber Choir performing in the Secondary Sacred Choral section in the beautiful surrounds of St Mary’s Cathedral on Tuesday evening. They did themselves proud and big thanks to Mrs Kerri Sloper for her wonderful work with the Choir. This was followed by the first of our solo performances with Year 6 student Nate Nicole representing the College with pride in the Solo Piano on Wednesday.

The focus then moved to Drama as selected Year 10 Drama students performed one act play ‘A Game’ as part of the Drama Ensemble category held on Thursday evening at St Norbert College. They took on a challenging piece of theatre and performed brilliantly.
