We have reached the final week of the Performing Arts Festival for Catholic Schools and Colleges and it has been an absolute joy to have been able to return to live performance this year. The final week has seen Holy Cross College participate in both the Secondary Solo Drama and Secondary Choral sections, both of which were very successful.
On Tuesday, Year 9 students Hannah Sorensen and Isabella Gethin and Year 10 student Ella King travelled to Servite College to perform Monologues for Secondary Solo Drama. The adjudicator commented on how all three girls presented performances beyond their years as they produced varied and powerful pieces. They are to be commended on their excellent performances.

The same evening, the College Chamber Choir under the guidance of Mrs Kerri Sloper travelled to Trinity for our final performance of the festival, the Secondary Choral. Performing the beautiful ‘Goin’ Home’ and ‘Bring Him Home’, the small yet dynamic group produced a beautiful performance with many parents in attendance. Thanks must go to Mrs Maddie Trinder for once again assisting with conducting and UWA Prac Teacher Mr Winston ‘T Hart for lending his superb violin skills to the performance.

We now look ahead to the showpiece event for Catholic Arts 2021 which is the Spirit of the Arts Concert at RAC Arena on Monday 13th September. This will include a massed choir of close to 2000 students as well as performances in Music, Drama, Dance and a School Flag Procession. Tickets for this event can be purchased at https://www.spiritofthearts.com.au/tickets/
