Commencement of Year

Blessing for the New College Year

Christ, Teacher, and Lord,
Bless all in this school
As we seek to commence our year
With the grace you so generously provide.

As we begin,
May we take with us
The knowledge that
You will keep us all
In your embrace so
We may be safe and happy
So we can continue in
The ongoing discovery
of your Love.

Amen

Welcome to the 2023 school year. We have had a great start to 2023, with the Year Seven students participating enthusiastically in their transition week and the Year Twelve students received their leavers jackets. Our Junior School students have settled into their routines quickly and the staff in Tui have been wonderful in implementing strategies to make our little ones feel safe and happy. Having no COVID restrictions for the first time in years has certainly made a difference.

High Achiever’s 2022

A few of our high achieving students were able to attend our first Assembly.

Congratulation’s to Pearse Topliss for being the recipient of a ‘Certificate of Distinction’. Pearse will be studying Engineering at Curtin University.

Congratulations to Leah Frisina who was the recipient of a ‘Certificate of Merit’ and will study Architecture at Curtin University.

Congratulations to Chloe Durham who also was the recipient of a ‘Certificate of Merit’. Chloe is studying Sports Science at Notre Dame.

Alexandrea Mahinay, Drishti Sabharwal, and Ellie Morland also were the recipients of ‘Certificates of Merit’; however, they could not be present. Well done to all!

House Patron Focus for 2022 – Frederick Ozanam

Ozanam represents our Inter-relationships, Pillar. Throughout his life, Ozanam’s simple hope was to’ become better to do a little good’.

Living in a time of economic and social upheaval, Frédéric Ozanam worked to address the needs of the poor by founding the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. From its small beginnings in Paris, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul now supports the needy in communities throughout the world.

In naming this House after Ozanam, we also acknowledge the link to the parish and its work with the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, which we will support. In his short life, Frédéric Ozanam was a man who developed a legacy of caring, compassionate, and connected communities, which endures today.

Ozanam House Prayer

Lord

We thank you for inspiring blessed Frédéric Ozanam

to establish the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.

Help us to follow his dream of ‘embracing the whole world in a network of love’.

Encourage us to bring support and friendship to those we encounter.

Help us to work for change to create a more just and caring society.

We ask this through Christ, our lord.

Amen.

Have a lovely weekend!
