On Tuesday, 5 November, 62 students from Years Three to Six participated in the CPSSA Interschool Athletics Carnival at the WA Athletics Stadium. The students participated in a number of events ranging from the 75m or 100m sprint, 200m, 400m, 800m, shotput, turbo javelin, long jump, leaderball and relays.

The students performed well in the sprints, particularly the relays, winning a number of relay events and placing second in the Grand Relay which is comprised of the fastest boy and girl from each year group.

There were some great individual efforts on the day and the students did their best to support the team, regardless of how many events they were in themselves. The students’ dedication to morning training, held twice a week in the lead up to the carnival was outstanding. They were equally well supported buy their parents on the day, with quite a number of parents cheering for the students at the stadium. It was an amazing opportunity to compete against so many other CPSSA schools and at such a prestigious venue.

We look forward to progressing our team games and longer distance events next year.
