Students in Year Eleven and Twelve Drama and Certificate Photography got the chance to put their skills in photography and character building in a sense of place to the test on Tuesday as they travelled to Waterman’s Bay for a cross curricular excursion opportunity. The cast of ‘Hotel Sorrento’ participated in site specific characterisation workshops in order to connect to the setting and explore the importance of place in their character building. Photography students got the chance to explore the environment and capture moments related to their landscape and texture focusses.

In a different approach to this year’s production promotion, students were then given the opportunity to combine and produce some promotional material for Hotel Sorrento. Cast members teamed up with Photography students in order to produce character specific photographs and even re-creations from the 1992 film version. These photos will act as promotional material over the coming weeks and will feature in the show program.
Thank you to the students for their enthusiasm and participation and to Miss Jessica Vaini for overseeing and preparing the photography students and to Mr Ian Wilson for driving the bus.
