Harmony Day is an attempt to acknowledge the contributions of multicultural communities to Australian society. It is celebrated with many community festivals and local events with global food and music and traditional dress. Holy Cross College celebrated this diversity, by holding a multi-cultural festival on Tuesday 21 March 2023.

Students came dressed in either traditional clothing, a shirt that represents a sport, or a plain orange shirt. The College offered many diverse opportunities for students to engage in celebrating this year’s Harmony Day. The Café served food from America, India, Greece, and Australia for students to enjoy. We encourage students to take part in these great activities throughout the week and during lunch breaks. Activities and stalls include; a poetry competition, multicultural dancing, making crafts, chalk hearts and games from different countries.

Thank you to Ms Karen Wilson, Wellbeing Officer who coordinated Harmony Day along with the Inter-relationships Team and our Student Leaders. We are so blessed to have such rich cultures at the College.
Mrs Christina Davini
Deputy Principal, Inter-relationships
