HCC Feast
Day – The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross

Holy Cross College commemorates its’ feast day close to the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, which is celebrated every year on September 14, and which recalls three events: the finding of the True Cross by Saint Helena, the mother of the emperor Constantine; the dedication of churches built by Constantine on the site of the Holy Sepulchre and Mount Calvary; and the restoration of the True Cross to Jerusalem by the emperor Heraclius II after it had fallen into the hands of Chosroas, King of the Persians.
Feast Day is also a celebration of our unique school identity, founded on the Cross. We come together to share in the Eucharist and remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us, so that through him we can have ‘Life to the Full’.
Thank you to our Inter-Relationships Deputy Christina Davini, support staff and teaching staff for organising our Feast Day and to every staff at HCC, for ensuring the day ran smoothly with our beautiful Mass, the popular inter-house dance competition, the fair and food stalls.
Thank you to our parents who attended and participated in the joy and recognition of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
I hope through our celebrations we have been able to contribute in a meaningful way to our House Patron’s Catholic missions.

Congratulations to our Vice Principal, Mr Peter Collins, who has been successful in gaining the substantive position of Principal at Irene McCormack College, in Butler, from 2022. Please join me in congratulating him. We shall farewell Peter, later in the term.
ACC Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to our students who performed so well at the ACC Athletics Carnival, that we were rewarded with first place. Thank you to our Sports Coordinator, Mrs Marnie Barrett, for the excellent preparation and organisation of the events and students. Thank you to our Learning Area Coordinator for Health & Physical Education, Mr Liam Smith and the team for all the extra time taken with training and coaching.

Spirit of the Arts
With more than 1,500 students from Catholic schools across our state coming together at Perth’s RAC Arena next Monday, the Festival Concert is set to be a spectacular celebration of music, dance, and performance.
The concert will be hosted by former Mary’s Mount Primary School and Trinity College student turned Channel 7 presenter, Tim McMillan. The packed program will feature bands, instrumentalists, singers, and dancers for the culmination of the week-long Performing Arts Festival. 32 school choirs will participate in massed choir performances, with schools unable to attend in person featured in a compilation video.
The Yagan Square and Forrest Place lunchtime concerts have proven to be a wonderful addition to the program and the extended program for Friday’s Carnevale and marketplace has meant more schools than ever have the opportunity to be involved.
Coordinating the week-long program has been a massive undertaking with the Catholic Arts committee and team working closely with CEWA’s marketing team and our staging and production partners.
To support our incredibly talented students and to be part of the excitement please follow the links below.
The program for the week’s festivities is now online at https://www.spiritofthearts.com.au/program-of-events/ and tickets are available through Ticketek.
Thank you to The Arts team who have had a very busy term!
