Holy Cross Student’s Star is on the Rise

The Midnite Youth Theatre Company at Christ Church Grammar School is Western Australia’s longest, continuously running youth theatre company for young people, aged 10 to 25 from Perth, Western Australia. Valued by artists and audiences alike, Midnite is treasured for its continued commitment to those seeking to explore beyond the limits of school drama; producing work in professional venues and touring productions internationally.

With live performances currently on hold, the company has launched Midnite Monologues, a Solo Drama Showcase, open to students from across Western Australia. The showcase is an opportunity for students from Years 5 to 12 to present their acting talents and develop their skills on screen and in live performance.

With Holy Cross College currently developing ‘The Monologue Show’ via remote learning, we are thrilled that Year 8 student Isabella Gethin has taken the initiative to use her piece, ‘Kate’s Monologue’, from the show as an audition piece for Midnite Monologues. On Friday, Isabella was selected as part of the cast in the Midnite Monologues, which is a huge achievement. She will now be cast with a monologue to learn, rehearse and perform with online support from the Midnite Youth Theatre Company directors and artists each week. Performances will be rehearsed and recorded and, ultimately, showcased on stage in front of a live audience.

The College would like to congratulate Isabella on this wonderful achievement and we look forward to following her journey as part of this initiative.
