This term has marked the beginning of our 2021 Junior School Creation Club sessions for students from Years 3 – 6. Students meet every Wednesday afternoon to participate in various activities which always allow for lots of fun and laughter.
We began the term by exploring the app, AR Makr. Students worked in pairs to create their own scenes using augmented reality. Some students created scenes including Pokémon and various other movie characters, while some students enjoyed using the app to show how the solar system works.
Students in the Creation Club had a wonderful time working in teams or independently to design and create their own catapult, fit for launching a marshmallow across the College Boulevard. Resource limitations and the temptation to eat marshmallows made this a fun, yet very challenging task!
In recent weeks, students have been using the Stop Motion app to create their own stories. Students have used a range of hands on resources such as magnets, white boards, toy people and cars and Lego to create their Stop Motion videos.
Students from Years 3 – 6 wishing to join the Creation Club can do so in Winter Term. Stay tuned for further information!
