Cross Country 2021
Tuesday 25 May blessed us with beautiful weather; a slight warmth from the sun, a coolness in the breeze and not a cloud in the sky. The conditions for running the Cross Country races was spectacular and if that wasn’t enough, the students entered the oval to see the tiered seating filled with parents and spectators; waving, cheering and ready to join in on the excitement of the day.
The Kindy students complete a 400m race, with the distances increasing to a 2km course for the year 6 students. Running such distances can be quite daunting and challenging for some, so it was pleasing to see many of the students pushing themselves to jog that little bit faster or stay ahead of the person behind them. The focus of the day was for everyone to continually strive for their best, work towards that finish line, earning as many points for their House as possible.
Congratulations to all students who completed their course distances, championship points were earned by each and everyone of you that crossed the finish line. A special mention must be made to our top athletes in each year group, who will be joined by others to represent Holy Cross at the annual Inter-school Cross Country event.

At the end of the races, the final House totals were as follows, with McCormack taking home the shield for the third consecutive year.
Place | House | Points |
1 | McCormack | 765 |
2 | Ozanam | 645 |
3 | Frayne | 629 |
4 | Salvado | 547 |
