To kick off the start of Summer Term, the Year Three, Four and Five classes each attended a Numero incursion in Week One.
Mrs Richards, the daughter of the game’s inventor, spent two days demonstrating the rules of the mathematical card game and explaining her tips and tricks for collecting more cards than your opponent. Classes spent 90 minutes learning and practising and each now have sets of cards in their classrooms to continue to play with.
The game is great for students developing their mathematical knowledge, as well as those that need a challenge, as it involves operational thinking and strategy. Students can build up to playing with more difficult wild cards such as multiplication, division and even fractions and percentages.
It has quickly become a sought after game and packs will soon be available in the LRC for students wanting to play at lunch times. In addition, Ms Waters will be starting up a Numero Club for students in Years 3-6 in the near future.
