In December 2019, all Australian Education Ministers signed a declaration known as the Alice Springs Declaration which sets the vision for education in Australia. This declaration discusses that “the middle years are an important period of individual growth and learning when a balanced set of cognitive, social and emotional skills are developed. Students are finding a sense of self and require investment in their emotional wellbeing and a voice in and influence over their learning. This is also a time when they are at the greatest risk of disengagement from learning. Through directly addressing each student’s range of needs, schools must focus on enhancing motivation and engagement.”.

On Tuesday evening, we had a wonderful opportunity to meet with the Junior and Middle School Parents at the College’s annual Welcome BBQ & Parent Information Evening.
In order to continue to pursue excellence in middle years education, parents were provided with a number of workshops to assist their children through these incredibly important stages of life. Additionally, families were provided with important information for success in 2021. Please find below resources from this evening.
