MYLife Expo and STRIVE

Saint Mary Magdalene,
woman of many sins, who by conversion
became the beloved of Jesus,
thank you for your witness
that Jesus forgives
through the miracle of love.

You, who already possess eternal happiness
in His glorious presence,
please intercede for me, so that some day
I may share in the same everlasting joy.

Amen.

Saint Mary Magdalene was one of the few who remained with Christ during His agony on the Cross. She visited His tomb with two other women and found it empty. It was to her that our Lord first appeared after His Resurrection. He asked her to announce His Resurrection to the Apostles.

COVID – Masks

You should have received our correspondence this week, in relation to the wearing of masks, from all sectors of Education systems in WA. Although not mandated, students are encouraged to wear masks where social distancing is not possible. This would include at assemblies, Gospel and Year Level gatherings. Thank you.

NEXT WEEK!

PK-12  MyLIFE Expo – Wednesday 27 July SAVE THE DATE!

All of our families and the wider community are invited to our MyLIFE Expo in the Lima Sports Centre. Many exhibitors will be available to help with career choices and to also have our Junior school students involved in thinking about what they’d like to do or be, when they grow up.

Come and join in with the activities, raffle and view the displays. Refreshments will be available, as well as a Parish sausage sizzle, and coffee van. This is a wonderful opportunity for our whole community to come together at last! I’m looking forward to seeing all of you at the event which commences at 5pm.

Tarma – STRIVE Escape Room

Tarma provides an additional learning environment to HCC which caters for those students needing further scaffolding to obtain key academic skills and also, for those students who are academically able and require extension to the normal year level curriculum. The Strive program has been developed. Last week parents participated in an ‘Escape Room – Time Travel’ challenge in Tarma, designed by the students under the guidance of Strive leader – Mrs Gabrielle McKinnon. It was amazing to see the enormous effort in the set up as well as the challenging codes and puzzles to work through. Thank you to our incredible students, Mrs McKinnon and Leader of Tarma – Mrs Iona Scott.

Westgrove Drive – Parking

Thank you to the families that have adjusted to the new flow of traffic in the Westgrove Dr car park. A reminder that traffic is now one-way, and families are to avoid waiting at the entrance of the car park to pick students up. Please find a parking bay and wait for the students to arrive.

Have a lovely weekend!
