Performing Arts Festival Week Three

The Performing Arts Festival for Catholic Schools and Colleges continued this week with a large number of students participating in various sections across the week.

Monday 5 August saw students from Years Seven, Nine and Ten perform at Zenith Music in Claremont in the Secondary Vocal Solo and Duet category. Congratulations to Isabella Gethin, Keely Pether, Mia-Mae Vella, Eva Durham, Hannah Sorensen, Holly Bryant and Stella Longton who all sang beautifully. A big thank you to Mrs Kerri Sloper for her work with the girls and for accompanying our singers on the day.

On Tuesday 6 August, a large group of Junior, Middle and Senior School dancers, under the direction of Miss Georgina Pratt travelled to Mercy College in Koondoola for the Primary and Secondary Christian Dance categories. Both groups performed with a sense of reverent grace and beautifully presented the reflective nature of prayer through dance. Thank you in particular to Miss Pratt and Mrs Sharna Bateman for their work with the students and to Ms Mandy Connor and Mr Ryan Shelton for representing the Holy Cross Senior Leadership team at the performance.

To round out a busy week at the Festival for Holy Cross, Friday 9 August gave students the chance to make some noise, with the Junior, Intermediate and Senior Bands performing at the Contemporary Band night, held at Prendiville Catholic College. One of the most relaxed events on the festival calendar, it proved to be a fantastic night of music and talent as all three bands rocked out to the sounds of Elvis Presley, Jay Z, Muse and more! A huge congratulations to all the student performers from the three bands as well as Ms Anne Mariner, Mr Dario Jiritano and Mr Jasper Miller for their work with the bands and to Mr Peter Collins for attending the performance!
