PREPARING FOR CHRISTMAS

In the past week we have been treated to delightful Christmas concerts presented by the Pre-kindergarten students.  It is a reminder that Christmas and the end of the year are approaching.  The Church is now in the season of Advent, a time in which we wait and prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ.

On Wednesday evening we will gather for Carols by Candlelight.  I look forward to seeing many families at this special community celebration.

A SPECIAL VISIT

Today we were privileged to receive a visit from Mr Gerry McCormack, brother of Sr Irene McCormack.  It was a pleasure to show Gerry around the College and in particular to take him to Huasahuasi and Trayning, buildings which have been named after places associated with Sr Irene McCormack. We were fortunate to hear from Gerry,  stories of the family life on the farm in Trayning.

SCHOOL REGISTRATION AUDIT

In May the College underwent a School Registration Audit to evaluate the school’s compliance with the Non-Government Schools Registration Standards and Other Requirements I am pleased to advise the College met all of the Standards and other requirements.  Thanks to members of the College community who contributed to the Audit process.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS

Thanks to community members who attended the Friends of Holy Cross Sundowner on Tuesday evening.  The sundowner was followed by the Annual General Meetings for the College Board and Friends of Holy Cross.  Both of these groups contribute a great deal to our College community and I thank them for their commitment, particularly Board Chairperson, Mr Adam Bolton, and Friends of Holy Cross President,  Mrs Louise Breadsell.

FINAL DAY FOR STUDENTS

The last day of classes for students is Friday 13 December.  Families are invited to attend the final College Assembly which commences at 9.00am on this day.
