Remembrance Day
Lord,
You sent Your Son to lead us into the peace of Your Kingdom.
Look with kindness on all who have served the cause of peace in our armed forces.
Send Your comfort and healing to their families,
and to all who suffer due to war and conflict.
May Your Son’s Gospel message of peace burn ever more brightly in our hearts,
our words and our actions, and lead all to fullness of life in You.
We make this prayer through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen

Today the college gathered in the Olive Grove to remember those who have lost their lives in War. Our ceremony incorporated the College’s new Acknowledgement of Country as well as the talents of our school cadets. It was a solemn yet beautiful service of commemoration and gratitude. Across the week our students have been completing activities within HTG to bring meaning and purpose to this day with the JNR school creating poppies that narrated what students are grateful for and our MS/SS students researching past battles and creating small soldiers in memory of the fallen, which were used to decorate our Olive Grove.
Thank you to our Faith Captain – Ella King for leading us in prayer and the Year 6 House Representatives who laid the wreaths, Tanya Katchan for the activities as well as Kerri Sloper for her playing of the Last post and Rouse, Mrs Tracey Trist for the Ode, Mrs Colleen Azzopardi for the prayer focus that remembers the missing soldiers and the IT and maintenance team for their continued support.
