Dear Holy Cross College Community
On Holy Thursday we recall the Last Supper of Jesus Christ, when he initiated the sacrament of Holy Communion prior to his arrest and the events leading up to the crucifixion. Holy Thursday is part of the Holy Week story. Jesus celebrated the dinner as a Passover feast. Christ would fulfill His role for all to be saved by His final sacrifice.
Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross are a 14-step Catholic devotion that commemorates Jesus Christ’s last days. The 14 stations focus on the significant steps of His last day. Today we re-enacted a mini pilgrimage as individuals moved through each scenario. At each station, specific prayers and readings were recited, accompanied by singing and music. I congratulate those that participated in the organisation as well as taking on a role. It was so meaningful. The deep respect from all students was clearly visible and the whole event was moving and reflective. Thank you to Mr Ben Bull, our Deputy Principal – Faith, Mr Chris McRae – Learning Area Coordinator; The Arts, Mrs Kerry Sloper – Music Tutor, and all staff that helped to make the event so successful, including our Grounds & Maintenance staff, who are always there to ensure the set up and pack up is seamless.
Cross Country

Thank you to Liam Smith, Learning Area Coordinator – Physical Education, and the team, as well as other staff members, for the planning and organisation of the Cross-Country afternoon that occurred yesterday. Congratulations to OZANAM, who had plenty of competitors on the day, and were awarded with first place. We made history. That is the first Cross County event that OZANAM has won here at HCC. Thank you to all students for making the day such a success, and for displaying such great support for one another, no matter which House you were in.
My Life – A Journey of Transformation in the Senior Years
Last week a letter was sent home to secondary parents in relation to the ‘My Life’ program, for our senior students. Thank you for your positive responses, and support with this initiative, which includes the review of the senior secondary curriculum program, curriculum delivery timelines, support levels for students and VET and career planning. This initiative does not affect our current Year Twelve students.
