Holy Cross College has made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the 2020 Production of ‘Oliver Twist’. The performance of this show will take place in 2021. The College is committed to giving students engaging and exciting Enrichment opportunities and under trying circumstances, we are thrilled to reveal that we have secure the rights to the Don Zolidis script ‘The Monologue Show’. This is a hilarious off-beat comedy which follows an inept Drama teacher as he attempts to hold everything together as his students all present their own thoughts, feelings and stories in the form of solo performances, or monologues.
The unique concept behind this production is that it will be all completed and compiled digitally with cast members rehearsing their monologues with the assistance of remote learning and independently filming their segments of the show. The monologues will then be compiled together to create ‘The Monologue Show’. The previous date of Saturday 27 June (which was due to be Oliver Twist’s closing night) will now act as the premiere of the College’s first Virtual Production. We would encourage members of the College community to view the production with your families from home on this night with stream details to be confirmed at a later date.
We look forward to undertaking this exciting and unique venture which will allow students to benefit from the learning experience of being involved in a production whilst remaining safe and well.
