The culmination of the Year 10 Outdoor Education course came to a head last week as students put their new found skills to use in Margaret River. Students braved the cold conditions for 3 nights at Conto’s Campgrounds. After enduring a patchy shower on the first night, we were blessed with sunny conditions. Students were assessed on their use of school trangias, their tenting skills and their abseiling and caving experiences. All students challenged themselves in some way, shape or form whether it was abseiling 40 metres into Brides Cave, taking on the confined spaces of Giants cave or struggling with the non existence of showers or phone usage.
The class has come a long way since the start of the course. The sense of camaraderie amongst each other was evident and they displayed a great attitude in team work and cooperation. For many it was their first camping experience and they should be proud of what they have been able to achieve throughout this years course.
