Middle School Lightning Carnivals

This week saw the Year Seven’s, Eights’s and Nines’s participate in the ACC Lightning Carnivals in a variety of sports. The students were able to choose from Soccer, Netball, AFL or Ultimate Frisbee to represent the College against other ACC schools in an Inter-school event that focused on maximum participation and competition of a friendly nature. The sports were played across four different venues; Netball at Matthews State Netball Centre, AFL at McGillivray Oval, girls Soccer and Ultimate Frisbee at Britannia Reserve and boys soccer at Alderbury Reserve.

The College had 35 teams participate across Monday and Wednesday and students from Certificate II in Sport and Recreation to assist with the coaching and managing of teams on the day. Our students participated in such an enthusiastic and positive manner representing their College with pride. Our student helpers displayed great leadership qualities, organisational skills and acted as mature and responsible role models to our younger students. The smiles were plentiful and the sunshine made for a beautiful couple of days to be competing outside. These are the days that students remember fondly and the students certainly enjoyed the days participating with old friends and new.
