The Year 7 students participated in a team building
day as a part of their transition into high school. Students were taken to Ern
Halliday Recreational Centre to spend the day in House groups, participating in
various activities. The focus of the day was to get to know each other and
their teachers within houses along with building relationships.

The activities were designed to challenge our students
to step out of their comfort zones and work as a team to complete the activity.
Big Swing involved an eight metre aerial swing, the Crate Climb saw students work
as a team to design and build a six to nine metre crate tower and then climb
the tower. During the water paddling activity, students paddled along the
Indian Ocean enjoying the fresh air, water and one group encountered a little
more sea breeze then we expected, so they got practice some lifesaving activities
which included tube rescues and beach flags!
