Towards the end of Autumn Term, the Year Four students began their class Book Clubs. Small groups of students were surprised by Mrs Azzopardi and received a specially wrapped gift. There was much excitement as the wrapping paper was torn off to reveal the first book they would be reading in their Book Club!

The students are taking it in turns to be the discussion leader, making decisions collaboratively about how many pages to read between sessions and having conversations about the characters, action and their reflections on the text.

Miss De Leon and Ms Waters have been filled with joy to see the students taking responsibility for their own reading, and engaging in stimulating discussions. Some groups are already on to their second book! We can’t wait to see how this evolves this term.
