Year Three Reconciliation Retreat Day and Rehearsal

Next Wednesday, 8 May, all Year 3 students will participate in a Reconciliation Retreat Day. This retreat is a combined event with students from St Helena’s Catholic Primary School as well as children preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation through the parish.

The Retreat focus will be centered around the theme of Reconciliation, with a particular connection to the Gospel passage Zacchaeus the Tax Collector. The Retreat will be lead by Sister Kathleen Hitchcock from the Sisters of St Joseph.

The day will commence at 9am in the San Salvador building and conclude at 2pm. At this time, students who are not receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation will return to class. Those students who are receiving the Sacrament will move to the Church where they will be lead through an Examination of Conscience prior to rehearsal at 3:30pm. Parents are required to attend from 3:30pm – 4:30pm in order to receive information regarding the organisation and logistics of the Sacrament.

A BBQ lunch will be provided by the parish for all students. Unfortunately, dietary requirements are unable to be catered for, so should your child not be able to eat this please provide them with their own lunch. All children will be required to bring their own recess. If students are staying for the rehearsal, please provide an afternoon snack.
