Year Two

The Year Two students arrived back at school for Winter Term, ready to go! Students have enjoyed reconnecting with their peers and have jumped straight back in to their learning.

On Wednesday, we launched our Big ideas unit for this term. We are exploring the question, “How has technology changed what we can do?” Students learned that technology was created by humans to make certain tasks easier and to allow us to do new things. Students developed a large brainstorm of all the technologies they knew before exploring some new ones! Wheelchairs, cameras, floppy disks and wind turbines were some of the inventions they explored.

During the Literacy block, students have been learning about author’s purpose. Students embarked on a scavenger hunt where they were required to locate books around the classroom and identify the author’s purpose. The Year Two students are very excited to write their own information texts this term.
