Year Two visit the Zoo

This term in Big Ideas, the Year Two students are exploring the question, ‘What is the circle of life?’ Students have participated in a variety of learning activities focused on building their collaborative, communication and critical thinking skills. These activities have been linked to our Science and Geography learning areas. As part of this learning journey, all Year Two students visited the Perth Zoo on Tuesday, 26 March.

Students journeyed around the zoo in small groups, lead by a team of wonderful parent helpers. Prior to the excursion, students had selected an animal they wished to focus on throughout the day. They were required to collect information on this animal before exploring other parts of the zoo. Our favourite animals included the Kimodo Dragon, the elephants and the large tortoises!

We are now focusing on designing and building our own zoo in the Fitzroy building, ready to showcase our learning to friends and family in Week 10.
