This week in Year Two we have enjoyed solving addition and subtraction word problems. Students have been following a set of steps which involve drawing a picture and writing the appropriate number sentence. Students have used emojis to represent word problems and have completed sorting activities.
In Religious Education, Year Two students have been learning about the human soul. We have watched different video clips and participated in class discussions about what our soul might look like. We discussed that all our souls are different and that they live on forever. Students created their own vision of their soul. Some students created videos or drawings while others used clay and craft items to present their learning.
Our Big Ideas question this term is ‘What do my community want?’ Students have explored the different needs and wants of various community members. They have also researched the different services provided in the community of Ellenbrook and have come up with their own ideas for what might be missing.
