Let us pray for Pope Leo XIV
Heavenly Father, we ask You to bless our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV. Grant him wisdom, strength and courage as he leads Your Church. May his guidance bring us closer to You and to one another. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
It has been wonderful to witness the positive engagement and enthusiasm throughout our community following the appointment of Pope Leo XIV. His message of peace and renewal has resonated deeply with our Catholic community, and we look forward to following his leadership in the coming years.
Mother’s Day Celebrations
Last Friday, we were delighted to host our Mother’s Day breakfast, with over 500 people in attendance! It was truly wonderful to see so many mothers, grandmothers, and special maternal figures sharing this beautiful morning with their children. The joy on everyone’s faces was a testament to the importance of celebrating those who nurture and care for us. We look forward to this new initiative growing in the future and becoming an annual tradition at Holy Cross College.
College Procedures Update
The College has been working hard on reviewing and updating many of our procedures to ensure we continue to provide the best possible environment for our students. We sincerely appreciate the support from parents and guardians during this process. In particular, the changes to the uniform procedure have been well received as we implement a practical approach to uniforms in the Junior School. Your positive feedback and cooperation have made this transition smooth and successful.
“The Little Mermaid” Production
The College is abuzz with excitement for this weekend’s “The Little Mermaid” production! After months of hard work, dedication and countless rehearsals, our talented performers, musicians and backstage crew are ready to showcase their incredible skills. The sets are magnificent, the costumes are spectacular, and the performances are sure to impress. We can’t wait to see the final product on show! Junior School Swimming Success
Congratulations to our Junior School Swim Team for its record-breaking performance last week! For the first time ever, Holy Cross College took out the Inter-School Junior Girls shield! Overall, we finished second in the competition, which is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our students and our dedicated staff coaches. Congratulations to all our swim stars on this tremendous achievement!
First Holy Communion
We keep all our Year 4 students in our prayers as they prepare for their First Holy Communion, which will be celebrated over the next fortnight. This is a significant milestone in their faith journey, and we are proud to support them as they deepen their relationship with Christ through this sacrament of initiation.
As it is the month of May, we honour Mary as the Mother of the Church with the Hail Mary:
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
