Celebrating Our Feast Day:
On Friday 12 September 2025, Holy Cross College came together in a vibrant celebration of our Feast Day, honouring the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. This special occasion is not only a cornerstone of our College calendar but a profound expression of our mission to live Life to the Full and journey through transformation in faith, learning, relationships, and excellence.
From the moment the day began, the spirit of Holy Cross was alive and thriving. Our community gathered in the Lima Sports Centre for a beautiful Feast Day Mass, where students, staff, families, and parishioners united in prayer and reflection. The Eucharistic celebration reminded us of the significance of the Cross; not as a symbol of suffering, but of hope, redemption, and love. It was a powerful moment of connection to our Catholic identity and the values that guide our College.
Following Mass, the campus transformed into a lively hub of activity during the Feast Day Fun Fair. Each Junior School Class and House Tutor Group hosted creative stalls and engaging activities. This was a true embodiment of our Giving Life programme, where students gave generously of their time and energy to support those in need. The joy, laughter, and sense of purpose that filled the grounds were a testament to the compassion and leadership of our students.
A highlight of the afternoon was the Inter-House Dance Competition, where students from Years 3–6 and 7–12 showcased their talent, teamwork, and House pride. The energy was electric, and the performances were inspiring. A special congratulations goes to Salvado House, who took out the win with a dynamic and spirited performance that captured the hearts of the audience and judges alike. Well done, Salvado!
Throughout the day, our students demonstrated what it means to truly encounter; to engage deeply, to serve joyfully, and to celebrate wholeheartedly. Their enthusiasm, respect, and commitment to the day’s events reflected the very essence of our College vision.
As Principal, I am incredibly proud of every student, staff member, and volunteer who contributed to making this Feast Day a memorable and meaningful experience. It is days like these that remind us of the strength of our community and the transformative journey we are all part of at Holy Cross College.
May the Cross continue to be our source of inspiration and strength as we walk together in faith and love.
