A Prayer for the Good Samaritan

Loving God,
You call us to love our neighbour without hesitation or condition.
May we, like the Good Samaritan, open our hearts to those in need,
show compassion to the suffering, and act with courage and mercy.
Help us to see Christ in every person we meet,
and to walk humbly in service of others.
Through Christ our Lord,
Amen.

Welcome Back to Term 3

Welcome back to all our Holy Cross College families! I hope the recent break was a time of rest, joy, and connection with loved ones. As we begin Term 3, we do so with renewed energy and a deep sense of gratitude for the community we have at HCC.

This term is particularly exciting as we continue to celebrate the Jubilee Year of the Catholic Church. At Holy Cross, we are also honouring our House Patron, Sister Irene McCormack, whose life of service and faith continues to inspire our community.

Spirit of the Arts Festival

Term 3 is always a vibrant time for the Arts, and this year is no exception. We are proud to have officially attended the opening of the Spirit of the Arts Festival this week. Students from our Junior, Middle, and Senior Schools will be showcasing their talents throughout the term in a variety of performances and exhibitions.

Thank you to our parents and caregivers for your ongoing support of the Arts at Holy Cross. Your encouragement and presence at these events mean so much to our students and staff.

Final Camino for Year 12s

This term also marks the final Camino of the year. It is a particularly significant journey for our Year 12 students as they complete the final leg of their 188km pilgrimage into New Norcia. This experience is a powerful symbol of their growth, resilience, and faith as they prepare to conclude their time at Holy Cross. Please keep them in your prayers during this special time.

Catholic School Improvement Plan (2026–2028)

Looking ahead, we are beginning the process of shaping our Catholic School Improvement Plan for 2026 to 2028. We have already started engaging with staff and will soon be reaching out to parents, students, and other stakeholders for your valuable input. This is a wonderful opportunity to help shape the future direction of our College, and I encourage you to participate when the time comes.

Book Week is Coming!

Finally, a reminder that Book Week is just around the corner! We look forward to seeing our students—and perhaps even some parents—in creative costumes as we celebrate the joy of reading. Don’t forget to visit our Book Fair in Week 3; it’s always a highlight of the term.

Thank you once again for your continued support and partnership in your child’s learning journey. May this term be filled with growth, joy, and many blessings.

Kind regards,

Albert Borrello
