Prayer for the Feast of St Mary MacKillop of the Cross
God of love,
You called Mary MacKillop to serve You in the poor and marginalised.
Through her example and intercession,
May we learn to see with eyes of compassion,
Act with hearts of courage,
And walk with faith in Your providence.
Help us to live justly, love tenderly, and walk humbly with You.
St Mary of the Cross, pray for us.
Amen.

Celebrating Parish Life
Last Saturday evening, our College community came together in a beautiful celebration of faith at the Parish Mass. It was truly wonderful to see over 50 students and staff actively participating; whether through singing in the choir or proclaiming the Word. The energy and reverence in the church were palpable, and it was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our connection with Fr Bona and the wider Parish community. These moments of shared worship remind us of the deep spiritual bonds that unite us and the joy of coming together in faith.

Book Week 2025 – “Book an Adventure!”
This week has been nothing short of magical as we celebrated Children’s Book Week 2025, themed “Book an Adventure!” A fitting tribute to the power of stories to transport us to new worlds, spark imagination, and inspire lifelong learning. The College was abuzz with excitement as students participated in engaging activities, and shared their love of reading.

The highlight of the week was today’s Book Week Parade, which brought the theme to life in the most vibrant and creative way. The costumes were absolutely exceptional, with many students proudly showcasing homemade outfits that reflected their favourite characters and stories. From dragons and explorers to time travellers and magical creatures, the parade was a joyful celebration of creativity and storytelling.

Thank you to the Friends of Holy Cross, Mrs Colleen Azzopardi, our Junior School staff, and the English team for their tireless efforts in making this week so memorable. Your dedication and enthusiasm have created lasting memories for our students and reinforced the importance of literature in their lives.

Parent Voice – Catholic School Improvement Plan 2026–2028
As we look ahead to the future of Holy Cross College, we are excited to invite parents to contribute to the development of our next Catholic School Improvement Plan (CSIP) for 2026–2028. Your insights and perspectives are invaluable in shaping the direction of our College.

We will be holding Parent Workshops on Wednesday, August 28th, and more information, including RSVP forms, will be sent home next week. I encourage all parents to participate. Your voice matters, and together we can continue to grow a vibrant, faith-filled learning community.

All parents and guests are invited to join us on August 15th for the Feast of the Assumption Mass in the Lima Sports Centre. It will be a wonderful celebration with staff, students, parents and the Parish coming together.

Kind regards
