Welcome Back to Term Two
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to what promises to be a vibrant and exciting Term 2 at Holy Cross College. I trust that the Easter break provided families with some valuable time to rest, reconnect and prepare for the busy weeks ahead.
Term Two is always a highlight in the College calendar, and 2026 is no exception. Across the term, our students will be enriched through a wide range of learning and co-curricular experiences including Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals, Inter-House, Inter-School and ACC, taking place across our Pre‑Kindergarten to College community. There will be preparations for our Arts Performances, Retreats, the Melbourne–Canberra Tour, and many more events that showcase the breadth of opportunities we offer at Holy Cross College. These experiences play a vital role in the holistic formation of our young people and we look forward to sharing many of these moments with you.
I particularly look forward to welcoming parents and carers to the College for our Learning Conversations on Tuesday, 28 April. These conversations are a key partnership moment between home and school, allowing us to celebrate progress, discuss learning goals and continue working together to support each student’s growth.
As we journey through this term, we also pause to acknowledge the significance of ANZAC Day. This is a deeply important time for our nation, and as a Catholic school, we see it as one of our key responsibilities to educate students about the service and sacrifice of the men and women who have served — and continue to serve — our country. Through remembrance, prayer and reflection, we honour the values of courage, service and sacrifice, ensuring they are understood and respected by future generations.
Finally, I would like to give a special shout-out to our 2025 College Annual, which is being released this week. This wonderful publication captures the spirit of 2025 — a year in which our College community came together to celebrate our LIFE pillars, with a particular focus on Irene McCormack as our Patron. The College Annual beautifully reflects our shared story and the strong sense of community that defines Holy Cross College.
Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support of Holy Cross College. I look forward to seeing many of you on campus throughout the term.
Wishing you and your families a wonderful beginning to Term Two.
Kind regards,
Albert Borrello
