Mother’s Day Celebration

This morning, our Holy Cross College community gathered in remarkable numbers to celebrate the extraordinary women who nurture, guide, and inspire us. It was truly wonderful to welcome over 500 members of our community to our Mother’s Day Breakfast, an uplifting and joy-filled occasion that reflected our value of being a connected community.

Mother’s Day offers us a special opportunity to honour not only mothers, but all mother figures who play such a vital role in our lives. Within our community, these women are the quiet strength behind so much of what we achieve. They are there in our most difficult moments offering comfort, encouragement, and unwavering support. Equally, they stand beside us in times of celebration, sharing in our successes with pride and joy.

There are few things more humbling than knowing you have made your Mum proud. It is a feeling that stays with us, inspires us, and reminds us of the values that shape who we are. Our mothers and mother figures help form the character, resilience, and faith that we strive to live out each day at Holy Cross College.

This morning’s celebration was a powerful testament to the strength of our community. The smiles, conversations, and shared moments captured the essence of what makes our College so special, a place where people genuinely care for one another as we aim to have life to the full.

I would like to sincerely thank all those who attended and made the morning memorable. In particular, I acknowledge our Junior School Choir who sounded magnificent, the dedicated student leaders and staff who generously gave their time and energy to ensure this event was such a success. Your commitment to serving others and creating a welcoming environment is deeply appreciated.

To all mothers and mother figures in our community, we thank you. Your love, sacrifice, and guidance do not go unnoticed. You are at the heart of our community, and today we celebrate you with gratitude and admiration.

Happy Mother’s Day for Sunday.
